Waimea Canyon Lookout / Kokee State Park
Also known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific." Located at the lowest part of the canyon, the lookout is the best place to view the canyon. Kokee State Park, through Waimea Canyon, a combination rain forest and nature trails, offer everything from casual strolls to hardy camping and hiking adventures among the redwoods.
Captain Cook's Landing
Located at Waimea Bay, this was the first place in which the British explorer, Captain James Cook set foot in 1778. This Bay for many years was a favorite provisioning port with Pacific traders and whalers.
Wailua River Cruise & Fern Grotto
Board a riverboat for a scenic cruise up the Wailua River to one of nature's most romantic creations, Fern Grotto. This hauntingly beautiful cave, luxuriantly festooned with growing ferns, is the only natural cathedral where musicians serenade couples with the "Hawaiian Wedding Song."
Spouting Horn
When the tide is running high, waves pressured through lava tubes are forced through a hole in coastal rocks and burst with gurgling and groaning noises into spectacular fountains of salt sprays and foam, geyser-like.
Wailua Falls
It is one of the natural scenes in Kauai. From the roadside, you can clearly see twin cascades of Wailua Falls, the waterfall is exceptionally strong after a heavy rain. Of course, be careful of the slippery floor once you enjoy watching this beautiful scene.
Sleeping Giant
Near Kapaa is Nounou, the "Sleeping Giant," the outline of a mountain ridge that bears a striking resemblance to a reclining giant. Legend has it that the giant overate at a luau (Hawaiian dinner show) and fell into eternal sleep.
Hanalei Town
It is the flat and round-shaped valley lied to the west of Princeville. The valley is covered by taro. Kuhio Highway, which overlooks the whole piece of taro field, is the best spot as a lookout.
Na Pali Coast
Mostly inaccessible except by helicopter, Zodiac rafting, charter boats or challenging, difficult trails, the Na Pali Coast is an unparallel opportunity rich with rugged grandeur, sea cliffs towering close to 4,000 feet high and lush valleys of incredible beauty. It is paradise found.
