Aston Aloha Beach Hotel’s Palms Restaurant Garners Taste Tester’s Award at Kauai’s Taste of Hawaii Event
HONOLULU, HI (July 3, 2012) – The new pupu menu at the Aston Aloha Beach Hotel’s Palms Restaurant is already off to a great start after one of its top dishes, Poisson Cru, was recently recognized at the Rotary Club of Kapaa’s “Taste of Hawaii” food and beverage contest. Palms’ Chef Greg Stoll served up this delicious dish at the event and walked away with the Best Presentation Award. The awards were determined by popular vote.
The tasty Polynesian-style ahi tuna salad dish, similar to ceviche and Hawaiian poke, is served in a carved out cucumber, with a wasabi and coconut sauce and garnished with cucumber slices. Offered nightly, the dish is the number one best-selling item on The Palms’ new pupu menu.
According to the Director of Food and Beverage, Trichael Pangan, “Since the introduction of The Palms’ new pupu menu in early June, the Poisson Cru has been a hit with both visitors and local guests.” Pangan adds that there are many other unique, delicious items on the new menu including Pina Colada Shrimp, Manapua Sliders, Tangled Tempura and another island favorite, Kauai Golden-Ale Fish & Chips.
