Wine Spectator Magazine’s “Best of Award of Excellence” Goes to Castaway Café at Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas
For the 14th year, Wine Spectator magazine has honored Castaway Café at the Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas with the “Best of Award of Excellence.” The award gives special recognition to restaurants with 400 or more wine selections that offer superior presentation and vintage depth, with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions.
Guests often comment that enjoying a sunset with casual dining and fine wine completes their Hawaii vacation. Castaway Café is located between the pool and the ocean, offering breathtaking views of Kaanapali Beach. The café is also noted for convenience and creativity, as well as catering beachfront weddings, family events or private parties for guests of Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas.
The café has been singled out by Wine Spectator magazine for the extensive wine list and well trained staff, always ready to discuss the hottest trends in wine or make suggestions to match the daily fresh fish and entree menu. According to owner Gary Bush, the café offers 20 wines by the glass and nearly 500 choices on the wine list – exceeding the criteria for the Wine Spectator award – and an uncommon characteristic for an open air, Hawaiian-style restaurant.
In addition to the café’s ideal beachfront location, Aston Maui Kaanapali Villas’ two swimming pools, jet spas, fitness center, day spa, beach activities center, plus the neighboring two championship golf courses, make for a perfect resort vacation.Return to Main New at Aston Page
